Cover exposed threads with these caps to help prevent bacteria growth in food processing areas and other sanitary environments. Instead of a cap without a seal, these have a silicone seal that blocks out water and contaminants. The rest is made of 304 stainless steel, which resists corrosion, even from frequent washdowns with harsh cleaners. Their smooth finish and rounded edges leave no crevices for water and bacteria to settle in, reducing the chance that a foodborne illness survives and spreads. Tighten these caps by their wrench flats to avoid scratching them. They’re up to four times as tall as our largest cap nuts, so they protect more threads.

If the seal falls off, it has metal and chemical additives so it can be picked up on metal detectors or X-ray machines—a requirement of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs. It’s FDA compliant for direct contact with food.
